Sep '14

The KBSA have announced the winners for their 2014 Excellence Awards which were presented at their 2014 Networking Dinner at The Welcombe Hotel, Stratford on Avon. For a brand new award in 2014, the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) sponsored an Apprentice award for the very first time, and this was awarded to KBSA member, Ream with showrooms in Gillingham and New Eltham.

Members for 27 years, their commitment to apprentices and training does them proud, and Peter Cross, Managing Director, said ‘“We currently have two trainees and five apprentices here at Ream. To us, training people in house is without a doubt the best thing you can do. Training in house, allows for great working knowledge and skills to be learned, as they are learning from experts within the field who are practicing daily. We invest a lot of time into our trainees and apprentices and wouldn’t be able to do this, if it wasn’t for the excellent funding and support that we have received from the kbb National Training Group and CITB”.

Graham Ball, KBSA Chief Executive Officer, said ‘We were delighted that the CITB have recognised the kbb sector in this positive way, as we all understand that it is through training and education that people can develop their skills. Ream has always supported this concept, and they are worthy first winners of this Award.’
