KBSA PROUD TO REPORT ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL AGM AND NATIONAL CONFERENCE 1

The Kbsa are delighted to report that this year’s AGM and National Conference and Networking Dinner surpassed last year’s success. Attended by over 58 retailers and 42 Corporates, there were over a 120 delegates in attendance. This year’s meeting opened with a welcome from Tina Riley National Chair, quickly followed by a presentation by Uwe Hanneck, acting KBSA CEO and Consultant. Hanneck presented the future strategy of the Kbsa, and outlined the forthcoming changes to ‘future proof’ the Kbsa. The significant change was the relaxing of the mandatory insurance requirement for domestic contracts. The resolution was passed with a majority vote.

Following the formal business the Annual Conference kicked off with a Consumer Legislation update from Peter Stonely, which encompassed changes to the legislation and what that meant for Kbsa retail members. Peter was followed by social media expert, Andrew Davis – Andrew presented the ‘so what’ in social media, which was very interesting and entertaining. Marianne Shillingford – Dulux Creative Director swiftly followed Andrew and presented the newly launched Dulux Colour Futures 2017, this was a thoroughly interesting presentation delivered with passion and enthusiasm. The final speakers of the day were Rita Clifton – International Brand Expert who spoke about how important branding is to any business – whether large or small, The Keynote Speaker of the day was Lord Digby Jones, who shared his experience of working with SME’s and his opinions of the changing business landscape.

Tina Riley, Kbsa National Chair said ‘ The content at this year’s AGM & Conference was excellent, the Kbsa have made significant changes to its membership criteria which should encourage more retailers and industry stakeholders to join the association and enjoy the benefits of Kbsa membership’.
