KBSA Annual General Meeting Adjourned

07 October 2009

The KBSA has confirmed that an adjourned AGM will be held on Thursday 15th October at Twickenham stadium.  The meeting has been called because not enough retail members were present to vote on the resolutions at the first AGM, held on 29th September.

Whilst twenty three retail members, eligible to vote  and 10  corporate members attended the  September meeting, the KBSA Memorandum & Articles of Association state that twenty five retail members are required to allow the voting on resolutions to take place.

“It is very disappointing that we were not able to proceed with the official AGM business,” said national chair, Michael Ashton of Boulevard Kitchens.

“We appreciate that many members travelled a considerable distance to be with us and we have extended our apologies.”

“The legal work required to update the restrictive Memorandum & Articles of Association is extensive and we have still not found a satisfactory solution, however the board  are now focused on resolving this issue as a matter of priority.”

KBSA CEO Graham Ball  presented an update of activities, corporate vice chair elect Malcolm Scott of Swift Electrical Wholesalers provided a corporate overview and NTG CEO Renee Mascari also spoke about the latest initiatives from the KBB NTG.

The adjourned AGM meeting will be held alongside the BCG XL Big Tour meeting for the London region. The KBSA will be holding regional meetings at Bristol on 8th October, Birmingham on 13th October, Glasgow on 20th October and Manchester on 23rd October.
