KBSA launches new energy guide to labelling

16 May 2011

The KBSA (Kitchen Bathroom Bedroom Specialists Association) has launched a new consumer guide that explains the changes being made to energy labels and gives guidance on the impact of buying more energy efficient appliances.

The new EU labelling will be in use from June 2011, providing information on the energy consumption rating of appliances as manufacturers introduce a new generation of energy efficient models.

KBSA sales and marketing director Ruth Ward says: “Saving energy to reduce household costs is a growing issue and our guide will help consumers understand the impact of the new labelling and make better informed energy efficient choices.

“We know from our most recent research with consumers that environmental issues are important when they are investing in a new kitchen or bathroom.   With energy prices averaging 13p per kWh in 2010 and set to almost double by 2015 investing in energy saving appliances is certainly worth investigating.”

The KBSA has compiled the quick guide in association with corporate member Swift UK, it is available to download from the KBSA website at www.kbsa.org.uk
