KBSA - Kitchen Bathroom Bedroom Specialists Association

New KBSA members find membership invaluable

13 May 2009

The Kitchen Bathroom Bedroom Specialist Association (KBSA) has welcomed a number of new members over recent months, who are reaping the benefits of association membership.

For new member Kuchen Kraft, based in Oundle, Northamptonshire the added peace of mind that Association membership brings to potential customers combined with the comprehensive insurance package has provided a welcome boost to his business.

Kuchen Kraft supplies top quality kitchens by Beckermann, Second Nature and Wentworth Kitchens from a high street showroom.

Owner Guy Bolsover (pictured), comments: “We have been running our showroom since 2004 and have been very successful but we realise that times are tough and the High Street is increasingly competitive.

“We have found that becoming a member of the association has benefitted us in many ways. It makes us stand out from the competition when trying to secure a sale. Consumers have more confidence in spending their money when they see that we offer such extensive consumer protection via ConsumerCare Plus, and the TrustMark accreditation gives us additional third part accreditation as it is a nationally recognised government backed scheme.

“ When we set up Kuchen Kraft we knew that the KBSA was the best choice for comprehensive consumer protection and offers a host of other business benefits.  For us it sends out the message to consumers of quality and professionalism. It is the ABTA of our industry.”

London based Urban Myth joined the KBSA in April and marketing manager Ollie Davies is well aware of the advantages it brings. He comments: “Historically, during periods of economic uncertainty, consumer confidence wanes along with house prices and employment security. Increasingly our designers are asked by clients about guarantees and deposit protection.

“Even with our 30 year history and reputation, without some form of insurance to offer, talk is cheap. Joining the KBSA changes this. Firstly, being part of the only recognised KBB trade association in the UK strengthens our message that we are a solid business. Secondly, the KBSA’s ConsumerCare Plus provides insurance backed protection;  that enhances consumer confidence in our company.”

Urban Myth designs, manufactures, imports and installs quality kitchens for both trade and consumer markets. It challenges kitchen design conventions and its 30 year success lies in offering customers the best of both worlds – progressive, adventurous designers working with some of the most experienced people in the industry.

Ollie is also a great believer in the importance of TrustMark. He comments: “The kitchen and bathroom industry has, for too long, lacked any form of regulatory body or scale of competence. Builders, roofers, gas engineers, electricians are all regulated and to great effect.

“During the last ten years, as house prices have increased, the kitchen and bathroom industry has followed suit. In short, the home improvement market in general had more business than ever before. This increase in trade also led to a big increase in the number of rogue traders keen to cash in on a rapidly expanding market.

“TrustMark helps to separate the good from the bad and is both a worthwhile asset to any genuine business keen to move forward and for the consumer, additional peace of mind that they are dealing with a reputable company.”
