The bathroom had existing bathtub, close coupled WC and a single small basin/unit with not much storage. The client was not sure if they wanted to keep the bathtub as it is where they bathed the baby. The existing bathroom was not installed correctly and there was water leakage going down into the kitchen.
The client wanted to create a boutique hotel feel with warm brass elements. Their wishlist included brass fittings, large format tiles, floating WC and sufficient storage but still with a design element. They also wanted to have a recess in the shower and create some ambient lighting.
We convinced the client to replace the bath with a shower, but in order to achieve a decent shower space we suggested relocating the existing window and also remove an existing column which was not load bearing.
We provided the clients with a 3D design using virtual worlds to visualise the space and to showcase our design. Along with this we also presented a mood board with the various finishes.
The completed bathroom included underfloor heating, bespoke designed mirror with LED lights and demista pads, a bespoke fluted glass shower enclosure with anti slip tray prefect for kids. We also got a wall hung WC and sufficient storage whilst not overcrowding the bathroom. All in all we managed to get everything on the clients wish list. We manged to mitre the tiles in the recess and above the WC box to create a more detailed look which as opposed to simple tile trims.
To achieve mood lighting we replaced the existing central light with dimmable LED spots, a pendant above the sink, LED lights on the mirror and LED strip in the recess. The pendant and recess were added on a separate switch giving the clients an option to have a more relaxed lighting if required.
Finally to create a total look we also changed the bathroom door/handle and managed to get a fluted door to completed the bespoke fluted shower screen.
