Kbsa Success at Grand Designs Ask an Expert Weekend 9
Jun '21

The Kitchen, Bathroom & Bedroom Specialists Association (Kbsa) supported a new virtual event for homeowners looking for advice on how to update their home, which took place on 22 and 23 May 2021.

The ‘Ask an Expert’ weekend was hosted by Grand Designs Live, providing access to expert advice for those working on a home extension, or planning to update their kitchen from the comfort of their own home.

Kbsa bathroom ambassador Caroline Cooper had a busy two days, speaking with people from all over the UK that were renovating their homes and looking for advice on their bathroom designs.  She said, “The majority of homeowners that I spoke to were looking to make the most of the space they had available for their bathrooms, with a lot of people wanting to find out more about the pros and cons of installing wet rooms”.

Kitchen design expert, Keith Myers from Kitchen Design Studio, The Myers Touch reported that creating an open plan kitchen and connecting the kitchen to a garden space was a popular theme.  He said, “One of the most common issues that is always raised at design events is that homeowners who are extending their home don’t seek the advice of a kitchen designer early enough. My advice is to bring in the kitchen designer as early as you can to avoid compromising the design or any costly adjustments.”

Kbsa national chair Richard Hibbert also took part in a panel discussion on the importance of designing your kitchen.  The video of this discussion can be seen here
