This kitchen renovation was created for a busy family living in a newer-build property in a quiet town in the Central Belt of Scotland. With one partner working offshore and children to consider, the kitchen needed to be functional, family-friendly, and effortlessly stylish. A space that could keep up with their lifestyle while offering moments of calm and connection.

The clients envisioned a sleek, modern kitchen that felt open and uncluttered, with plenty of storage to keep everyday life organised and worktops clear. They wanted to incorporate a grey palette to maintain a consistent flow with the rest of the home’s interior while keeping the kitchen space feeling bright and welcoming.

Casual dining and hosting were key parts of the brief. With a separate formal dining room already in place, they wanted a built-in seating nook where the family could gather for everyday meals or where guests could sit and chat during gatherings, especially with patio doors opening directly onto the garden.

Appliance choice was also a top priority. They were keen on high-end functionality, particularly a gas hob for cooking, but appreciated the visual appeal of induction. To meet both form and function, we incorporated a gas-on-glass hob - giving them the traditional control they prefer, with a sleek, modern aesthetic.

Design Process:
We selected our X-Line kitchen range in Onyx Grey, a sophisticated and timeless colour that grounds the space while tying in beautifully with the rest of the home's décor. The look was elevated with a Muscat porcelain worktop - a durable, elegant surface ideal for a busy family environment.

Storage was thoughtfully maximised with a combination of tall units, sleek overhead cabinetry, and deep double drawers beneath the hob - ideal for keeping cooking utensils, pots, and pans neatly organised and within easy reach. A bespoke built-in seating area serves as a standout feature, complete with integrated storage below, stylish acoustic wall panelling behind, and space for bar stools. This versatile nook creates the perfect spot for casual family meals, working from home, or relaxed entertaining.

Mirrored splashbacks were used creatively to enhance the space - installed behind the cooking area to reflect light and visually open up the room, and again above the ovens in a decorative feature area, adding depth and contemporary flair.

The kitchen was equipped with Siemens appliances throughout, delivering top-tier performance and a refined, integrated look.

End Result:
The result is a kitchen that not only looks stunning but also supports the real rhythm of daily life. From the smart storage to the elegant finishes and multifunctional seating area, every detail was carefully considered. It’s a space designed to serve this busy family now and for years to come - beautifully blending practicality, performance, and personality.
