Kbsa Announces Professor Charles Spence As Keynote Speaker At Kbb Industry Conference 6
Apr '23

The Kbsa has announced that Professor Charles Spence, head of the Crossmodal Research Laboratory at the Department of Experimental Psychology, Oxford University, and author of Sensehacking: How to use the power of your senses for happier, healthier living, will present as keynote speaker at the KBB Industry conference on 27 September.

Professor Spence will discuss some of the ways we can all more intelligently stimulate our senses in the home to support our health and social, cognitive, and emotional well-being.  His presentation will focus on ‘sensehacking’ our showrooms, exploring how we can transform them into a multi-sensory experience that enhances both the design and sales process.   He will also demonstrate how the home environment has a much more profound effect on us than any of us probably realise.

Kbsa chair Richard Hibbert said, “We are delighted to welcome such a well-respected leader in psychology as Professor Spence who is believed to have done more to discover and promote the translational value of multisensory perception from the bench to business than any other academic.”

The KBB Industry Conference 2023 will take place at the Belfry Hotel and Resort, West Midlands. The format will include the popular retailer dinner on the evening before the conference, Tuesday 26th September.  The conference will be hosted once again by the journalist and broadcaster Juliet Morris, followed by the awards dinner in the evening. Award-winning comedian, presenter, actor, author and scriptwriter Russell Kane will host the 2023 Designer Awards.
