KBSA Consumer Care Plus/Consumer Care Disclaimer
Some KBSA retail members provide Consumer Care or Consumer Care Plus protection insurance for retail "supply and install" contracts agreed between a customer and a KBSA member.
If the KBSA retail member has elected to be part of the Consumer Protection Scheme The KBSA retail member is required to register the contract for provision of goods and services with the insurance provider QANW (the trading name of Warranty Services Ltd) who will issue a certificate of insurance and policy documents to the customer, on behalf of Guarantee Protection Insurance Ltd. Registration is recommended at the time a deposit is paid. The customer is only covered when in possession of that a certificate from QANW.
The KBSA does not underwrite the Consumer Care or Consumer Care Plus protection insurances and cannot enforce the provision of the insurance to the KBSA members' customers, neither can they influence the insurer in a claims situation. The KBSA has no liability to the customer as a result of the KBSA member failing to provide the appropriate insurance.
For the avoidance of doubt the KBSA has no liability to the customer as a result of the insurance provider refuting a claim.
Any contract for the provision of goods, installation and services is agreed between each individual consumer and the KBSA retail member.
The KBSA has no liability whatsoever for transactions that are the result of contacts being made to non-KBSA members identified through supplier searches, listings, adverts (or similar) on KBSA Corporate Member sites.
The role of the KBSA is to provide helpful advice to the consumer (through this website and advice documents), about what they can expect when dealing with a KBSA member and what that member should offer in the way of insurance protection at the point a transaction is agreed.
