Challenge:What we delivered:
Structural steels requiredSteel beam left exposed and painted black to create an urban feel. Feature bolts within steel. Exposed brickwork left on walls to complement steel.
The kitchen is in back corner of the room, an so the use of many dark, masculine, colours may have made it feeling cold, dark and invasive.Alpina Mid Oak, deep-textured wall unit and island doors, add warmth and complement the bronze vein in Dekton Laurent matte worktops. The PTO cannon black matt Zola doors were paired with graphite handleless trims, giving subtle, clean lines and division of units. We ensured light flowed into the back corner of the room from bifold doors and skylights by positioning tall larders at the back of the kitchen. AEG Venting hob alleviates the need for a bulky hood and allows for warm-toned feature lights. The practical yet stunning antique glass splashback reflects light, making the room feel more spacious. Glass bar wall units allow for feature lighting and light reflection. Warm strip lighting throughout the kitchen creates mood lighting and practical lighting. The brass tap and the brass sink waste contrast with the black sink area.
Desire for breakfast pantry areaUse of a tambour door in corner. Creates clean, sleek storage, adds another texture, continues bank of larders and allows for wall unit positioning close by, minimising wasted wall space.
Accessible storage for the  whole family
  • Le Mans corner base pull out. 3 x sets of pan draws in the island, creating symmetry, accessible storage for pans, crockery, cutlery and spice drawer.
  • Pull out – right of the wine cooler for spirits in the bar area.
  • Tambour unit – easy pull-up mechanism hides away all breakfast items and the toaster.
  • Additional shallow base units under the island for non-everyday items.
  • Bin to the right of the dishwasher allows good flow around sink/dishwasher.
Children's safety and kitchen durability in a family environment.
  • Quartz worktops with a waterfall end on the island to protect the area.
  • AEG Oven and combi at the far end, at eye level.
  • Deep island to ensure safe seating distance from the induction vented hob.
  • Painated brass Quooker tap.
