Latest trends for Autumn / Winter

The KBB industry is one that changes with the seasons, and so, as the leaves fall, the colours that we begin to see outside follow us into our homes, and designers have new customer needs to meet. Autumn and winter are seasons where homeowners value warmth, space to unwind, and flexibility for hosting and entertaining friends and family.

Colours and Materials

As the colder months creep in, we expect to see the warmer neutrals take over the palettes for kitchen design at the end of the year. Deeper greens and clays replace the sage and cool greys that we saw in Spring 2025.

Deeper tones in wooden elements will also help to draw in the warmth. Textured furniture featuring these moodier tones and matte finishes allows for that ‘cosy’ feeling that many homeowners seek in the winter months.

Appliances and Functionality

A trend that has been seen to increase in kitchen design as the year goes on is segmented function spaces. This is where coffee enthusiasts desire a designated coffee station as part of their kitchen design, or where we see gin connoisseurs implementing a home bar.

Balancing these function-specific needs with many consumers’ desires for hidden appliances and counter space to entertain is a difficult task, but when done effectively, the results speak for themselves.

Retailer tip: ensure that the natural and artificial light in the space complements the colour palette when opting for darker tones to emphasise their warmth.

Effective use of space is especially important as we enter the end of the year, approaching a season of family celebrations for many. Counter and table space, as well as selected appliances, must be able to cater for the needs of those who take part in winter hosting and entertaining. These functional spaces, like bars, are a great addition to homes that regularly entertain guests!

Moods and Wellness

There has been an undeniable drive in wellness in 2025, and as winter approaches, this trend will only grow. Many begin to value their warm baths and showers even more as the weather turns, and so we see the country start to spend more time in their bathrooms.

One of the wellness trends that has featured heavily in bathroom design this year is the consumer request for the mood of the room to be ‘spa-like’. Colour and texture play an important role in creating an atmosphere that is calming to the eye but functional to the needs of an individual or family.

Fixtures, fittings and purpose

Gold and brass fixtures become an ideal addition for the luxury feel of these bathroom designs. Warmer-toned marble textures, or dark, matte features, create this relaxed atmosphere that many consumers are looking for. Clutter-free surfaces are needed to maintain this spa atmosphere, and so functional storage solutions in keeping with the design of the space are essential.

Retailer tip: spa and wellness as consumer priorities invite themes of luxury and nature. Try incorporating a free-standing bath or rainfall shower head to enhance the experience for your customer.

Colours and Materials

The outside is being brought inside this winter, with nature-inspired wallpaper and colour palettes. These deep browns and greens are accompanied by playful uses of berry colours and jewel-tones to brighten spaces. Lighting and furnishing become increasingly important as the colours and patterns take centre stage, meaning an additional challenge is faced by bedroom designers - creating a space that stands out, without overpowering the need for a calming space.

Storage, lighting and luxury

Avoiding clutter is a task that continues in the design of 2025 winter bedrooms, and consumers want fitted storage solutions that integrate with their furnishings to maximise space. We are seeing wardrobes maximise the floor-to-ceiling storage, while under-bed drawers allow things to be hidden away, leaving the attention on the décor features.

Retailer tip: experiment with colour combinations to create statements that are unique to your client. Combining neutrals with bolder colours can create a timeless yet bold expression.
