Mr. and Mrs. Fitzsimmons wanted to combine 2 rooms into 1 to create a luxurious statement bathroom. They wanted a freestanding bath and a walk-in shower, and were open to ideas about the design, but wanted the room to stand out.
We used quality products throughout, for instance, using Aqualla brassware for their industry-leading product guarantee, and a beautiful Adamsez bath, custom-sprayed to match the brushed bronze brassware. Using high-quality, sustainably made products was a worthwhile investment, as this is a room that will last a lifetime.
On the left-hand side of the room, we built a full-height stud wall to hide a very large 1800mm x 1000mm walk-in stone resin tray shower tray. We fitted a large illuminated horizontal recess tiled in the contrasting floor tile with a complementary Corian bottom shelf. This nicely separated the shower from the rest of the room and allowed room for us to fit a 1200mm recessed mirrored cabinet in the wall. We fitted a luxurious Calypso double-winged vanity unit with a matching glass basin, which fit nicely on the stud wall.
Turning to the centre of the room, we built another stud wall behind the bath. This enabled us to plumb in a bespoke bath shower mixer using various Aqualla components and create two recesses for the storage of soaps and shampoos. These recesses matched those in the shower, adding interest to the room as well as functionality.
On the right-hand side, we used the abundant space available to us to build a full-height stud wall the full width of the room. We fitted a recessed double cupboard for ample storage, a third 1800mm x 600mm ladder rail, and a wall-hung WC with another illuminated recess above. The clients wanted the WC to be as hidden away as possible. To do this, we fitted a bespoke frosted glass screen to obscure the view of it, UV-bonding a right-angled piece to maximise its effect.
The combination of creative design, quality products and thorough attention to detail delivered a stunning bathroom that more than met the clients’ expectations.
