This kitchen was designed to bring together strong functionality with bold, sophisticated design choices. The client requested a space that felt high-end yet warm and approachable, with clever storage solutions and standout features that added both character and practicality.
One of the key elements was the inclusion of a generous corner pantry. This was designed to provide easily accessible, centralised storage while helping keep the rest of the kitchen clutter-free. It forms part of a larger layout designed to optimise space, including as many pull-out storage solutions as possible, deep drawers, internal pull-outs, and integrated mechanisms were included throughout to maximise usability and efficiency.
The island became a focal point in the room, both visually and functionally. Designed as a split-level feature and finished in two contrasting tones, it distinguishes between the cooking and seating areas while creating dynamic visual interest. The elevation change also helps define zones within the open-plan space, balancing form with function.
Cabinetry was designed to run all the way to the ceiling, enhancing vertical storage and creating a fully built-in, architectural look. The full-height design adds drama and presence to the room, while removing the need for dust traps or unnecessary trim.
The client’s preference for a bold, sophisticated palette was reflected in the dark-veined worktops. The surface chosen brings richness and texture to the scheme, while its natural pattern adds a layer of visual movement that contrasts beautifully with the clean lines of the cabinetry.
Accommodating an American-style fridge freezer was another part of the brief, and it was carefully integrated into the run of tall units to maintain a cohesive visual flow. The cooking area features a gas hob with a built-in extractor, allowing for the tactile benefits of gas cooking without the visual interruption of a bulky overhead unit.
The result is a kitchen that feels grounded, luxurious, and completely tailored, meeting the client’s needs for style, performance, and intelligent storage in equal measure.
