The client wanted a monochrome shower room to be used by her beauty clients after having treatments but, did not like the idea of having black tiles on the floor as these would show up hair and towel fluff too easily.

I carried out a survey at their home and discussed the project in more detail with her, they had just bought the house and the room had not been touched for over 20 years.  The original bathroom had a bath in but, due to the change in use of the room and the fact that they had a bath in the main bathroom upstairs I suggested a walk-in shower.    I took tile samples with me and we decided on a matt white wall tile and a slightly textured concrete effect grey floor tile.

I created a couple of designs and concepts and visited again to go through these.  We discussed the benefits of the walk-in shower, with no moving parts or doors to be accidentally slammed by her clients and she loved the idea of this and the concept.   We tried swapping the vanity and the WC around but, the client preferred having the vanity in the middle.

To enable the wall hung WC we created a boxed area and extended it all along the same wall.  This allowed us to install a recessed illuminated mirrored cabinet and create 2 alcoves in the shower area.   We used matt black brassware and radiator and a white vanity unit for the monochrome look requested.  Black tile trim was used around the window and the recesses and along the top of the tiled skirting to complete the look.

The whole installation, from start to finish, took 7-8 days and the client was over the moon with the transformation.
