A lovely couple based in the beautiful cottage town of Romsey, Hampshire, wanted a clean and refreshed feel to their bathroom.

The current bathroom looked old, dated and was aging, losing quality of life day by day.

We were instructed to design, supply and install a bathroom not just in keeping with their tastes but also their home lifestyle in general, but with a modernized twist. A flush to floor walk-in Wet room minimal, chic but classical 1920’s features to blend it all together.

During our first meeting, we found products on display in our showroom which instantly inspired the couple. Matte city bronze brass ware selection by Samuel Heath, natural stone effect tiles and lavish, painted solid oak cabinetry for storage! It was all so appealing to them.

Now the task was on: Incorporate their styles and preferences into the shape and size of their bathroom.

The biggest task was going to be keeping the city bronze matte theming continuous throughout.

For the radiator I knew of bronze finishes available by Bard & Brazier. For the Shower Screen profiling, I knew Majestic Showers could deliver the matched bronze finish to Samuel Heaths taps and shower sets. Wall mounted Spotlights from Astro could deliver the same Bronze matte finish and add that additional ambient light required for better everyday use of the basins and requested large inset into tile mirror. The mirror was also requested to have demister anti-steam heated pads behind it also.

Under tile heating and a dual fuel towel operation were to be controlled via one sleek, modern thermostat and a double basin scenario each mounted under a natural stone worktop, on top of the painted oak furniture was to be the icing on the cake. Since the tailored 20mm thick stone worktop was to have a matching splash back mounted at the rear, it was important to make sure that the concealed working parts for the wall mounted basin taps were going to reach the finished tap spouts and levers. This required the use of extension kits for the concealed parts of the brass ware.

Installation here had to be pin point accurate and spot on to perfection. No room for error and everything had to be installed to the best and highest quality possible. We even had to design and build specifically around a permanent vertical WC soil stack. This is where the custom built oak units and made to measure stone template really worked out.

So many items in this design had to be especially sourced and built to suit the project specifications.

Project Cost: £36,000
