I designed the master en-suite around the freestanding bath from Waters Of Ashbourne as the central focus. As this was to be the main event, I created a bulkhead to allow a concealed wall mounted bath filler and feature alcove with lighting. I chose a textured mosaic style tile for the bulkhead in order to draw the eye to the bath. The low positioning of the alcove allows the user to simply reach for their products without a struggle, emulating the ease and calm of a spa atmosphere.

In terms of colour and tones, I kept it neutral to evoke the tranquil atmosphere the client was looking for, with a warm concrete effect tile on the floor and the majority of the walls. I matched the towel warmer to the same warm tone, which blends beautifully in the space, and in the perfect position for exiting the bath. I included a bespoke colour matched shower tray from Ambiance Bain which was raised to accommodate the concrete floors in the apartment.

The client did not require a large basin area, so to save space for the freestanding bath and shower area, I kept it simple with the wc and basin on one elevation using Montrose fitted furniture. The beautiful Neostone worktop brought a fresh finish to the space, with a modern oval basin semi recessed basin. Additional alcoves were created to allow towel storage which was also important to the client.

Mr & Mrs Steedman couldn’t have been happier with the finished result. The drastically improved space has transformed their lives and is their new favourite talking point with friends and family. The re-design came in under budget at 27.9k inc. VAT.
