Client Brief - Entry Up to £20k

The clients are both aged in their 50s and lead an extremely busy lifestyle running their own businesses.

The property is a contemporary style chalet and it was delivered pre-built with a standard and basic kitchen. The clients wanted to create something contemporary with their new kitchen and as far removed from the style of their existing kitchen as possible.

They really wanted the living area to feel as one space but required space for a dining table to seat six people but also required a more relaxed eating area for the two of them.

As part of developing their future business interests the clients hope to be being buying and renting more of these chalet style homes so this space needed to create a ‘wow’ factor that would inspire potential holiday makers and potential buyers.

I used a large proportion of the available space to create the kitchen in order to allow for an island that the clients required.

The kitchen is handleless to create a streamline look with unit fronts in dark grey gloss with feature panels in a grey wood effect that compliments the flooring. The work surfaces are in 20mm Silestone Marengo with a 50mm feature breakfast bar with matching legs.

The tall units are positioned in what was originally an unused, almost awkward space. These house the clients’ own fridge freezer along with two new Neff Slide&Hide ovens, combination microwave and a coffee machine; A perfect combination for the clients’ family dinners. The housings were framed with chunky panelling and then painted in a vibrant orange to create a striking look. This would also allow the client in the future to re-paint in a different colour to completely change the look of the kitchen for minimal effort and expense.

The island creates a great amount of usable storage with the use of deep drawers. This also houses a Siemens InductionAir hob with a feature pendant light above. Casual seating for two is also a feature of this island.

The clients absolutely love their new space and it has really created the ‘wow’ factor that they were looking for. Not only is it loved by the clients and their family but by everyone who visits too.

Agreed budget value for this project was £19,583.00
