Client Brief - Entry Up to £20k

The clients are a professional couple with a teenage daughter. They bought their property a few years ago and the kitchen was to be the first part of their renovation plans.

The existing kitchen felt small and dark but had a great view out onto the garden. The next room to the kitchen was the dining room. This was unused by the family so we decided to remove the joining wall in order to create a larger kitchen\living area for the family to enjoy. Whilst opening the space, large sliding doors were added to allow in more natural light to the space as well as allowing a much better view of the garden.

The clients wanted the kitchen to have an industrial feel but also quite eclectic in its style. Although they wanted the feel of the space to be contemporary they didn’t want it to feel too minimal that clutter and general day to day living would spoil its look. They wanted the kitchen to be functional and did not want to feel uncomfortable when using it.

The chosen furniture is matt grey with a handle that had the detail of exposed bolts with a welded effect finish. The work surfaces were in 20mm Silestone in Marengo. We added a feature splashback panel using hand-glazed tiles that as a combination worked really well in creating the industrial style. The tiles also added warmth to the grey tones of the doors and complemented the tones of the bamboo flooring.

Featured on the back wall is a combination of tall, wall and base units. These have been made to bespoke sizes to fit the wall perfectly as well as maximising the storage of that space. Along this wall is the customers own dishwasher and stainless steel fridge. Here we added a Siemens combination microwave and single oven along with a Franke under mounted sink and boiling water tap.

The island creates a great amount of usable storage with the use of deep drawers. The island also features the Siemens InductionAir hob with a feature pendant light above.

The clients have a lot of nicknacks and belongings that they wanted to display. To accommodate this we added reclaimed oak shelves on industrial style brackets that really complimented the handles.

The clients love their new living area. It has not only transformed the space but it has really transformed the way that they live and interact as a family.

Agreed budget value for this project was £19,642.00
