New Clients, Mr & Mrs Wise, came into the showroom with plans for their new extension they were building and were eager to have designs drawn up for the master en-suite bathroom.

With a budget of 25k and a blank slate, they were unsure what they were looking for but knew it was to be light and bright and follow the theme of the extension which had high pitched ceilings and Velux windows giving a modern open feel. Their main requirement was a double vanity unit with plenty of storage for them both. The shower was to be a good width with minimal glass to clean, they preferred not to have a wet floor and liked the look of a shower tray better. The room was to accommodate a freestanding bath which would be used regularly by Mrs Wise. Mr Wise was also keen to have the wc out of the way and not on show if possible.

I designed the room with two partition walls creating a “T” shape, this allowed me to divide the space more effectively with the shower on the left-hand side and wc on the right. The main front wall was taken to 2.4m sitting short of the pitched ceiling giving it a floating impression. This also created a perfect space for the Keuco Edition 400 double vanity unit with sleek in set basins which were paired with Crosswater Dune wall mounted basin mixers. This wall also allowed me to add extra storage for my clients with a HIB recessed, illuminated mirror cabinet. A Matki Bespoke shower tray was made for the space 1000mm wide to keep the shower extra roomy, 2x eye level alcoves were created in the shower area for storage.

The clients had asked for a double function shower and I included a large wall mounted fixed head with a separate rail kit shower with controls accessible from outside of the shower space. The minimal wall hung Laufen wc was fitted behind the wall to right hand side which fulfilled the client brief to have this hidden away. To maintain the modern elegant feeling a Clearwater stone bath set on an angle as you entered the bathroom, a small shelved area was added to give much needed laydown space for Mrs Wise when in the bath. Soft warm grey polished marble effect tiles from Atlas Concord were used throughout giving a sophisticated look to the room, this was complimented with a Porcelanosa Laja textured feature tile on the main wall. LED Lighting was used under the basin unit and in the alcoves as the clients were keen to have separate lights for during the night or when using the bath.

Mr & Mrs Wise are delighted with the new en-suite bathroom, they loved the tile colours so much they continued the theme through their dressing area and bedroom. The layout was the hardest part for them to imagine and they were so happy to have something unique and designed with their specific needs in mind.
