As a busy working woman with a demanding career working in the NHS. Dr Moultrie had requested for her new bathroom design to work on a dual level. The design brief was to combine both open space for her to shower quickly before an early morning hospital shift but also serve as a relaxing space to unwind after a long demanding day.

I first met with the customer to carry out an initial bathroom survey at her property which was located a short distance from our main showroom. After collecting all measurements and pictures of the existing bathroom, I was also able to get a better understanding of the space/ layout. After speaking with the customer to find out if there were any specific design request, Dr Moultrie made me aware of her desire to have a new bathroom which could accommodate her fast pace lifestyle but also serve as a warm ‘spa’ like space to relax after a hard day.

I arrange to meet the following week for a design presentation with the customer and began drawing up a dimensioned plan and working on the design concept. The software program used was Virtual Worlds which helps to create a realistic visual render to show customers their bathroom design. As the brief required for the space to work on two levels, I had proposed to remove all existing furniture as the bathroom was very dated with a small shower enclosure and boxed in bath. The new design included a walk in linear wet floor and free-standing bath which opened the whole room. With the effective use of feature lighting in the alcoves it helped to create a much warmer feel to the space. I worked together with Dr Moultrie to refine the final details of her bathroom renovation to suit such as the basin tap style and radiator colour choice. Once all details had been confirmed, a check survey was carried out by our installation manager prior to ordering the furniture.
