Ashgrove Kitchens’s Luke Bates Flourishes at Ideal Home Show

The Ideal Home Show took place in March and April and celebrated the latest in the home renovation industry. Amongst the exciting updates and demonstrations was Ashgrove Kitchens’s Luke Bates, who was there to provide advice and guidance in the Renovation Advice Hub, a new addition to the award-winning show.
Based in Devon, Ashgrove Kitchens are a Kbsa member that has gained a reputation as one of the very best bespoke kitchen designers, planners and installers. Ashgrove’s “true quality is within our team of highly skilled local craftsmen”, one of which is Luke, who helps to provide handmade kitchens, bedrooms, bathrooms and studies.
Luke, a former Kbsa Young Designer of the Year nominee, has been in the industry for over 10 years, working on some very exciting traditional and modern design projects.
Luke’s design expertise led him to feature in the Renovation Hub, providing visitors with advice and industry insights for three days of the Ideal Home Show, the first of which was 20th March.
“I woke up early in the morning, eagerly anticipating what the day would bring,” he said. “The show was set to begin at 10am with pre-booked clients turning up throughout the day. Armed with brochures, pictures of previous kitchens and general literature, I felt I was prepared for my clients.”
The Ideal Home Show proved extremely busy for Luke, who remained a popular source of design inspiration on each of his three scheduled days. This tone was set almost as soon as he had settled into his office for the day, pictured below.
“My first booking was at 11am, but by 10:30 I had already spoken with two ‘walk-ins’, which kicked the day off nicely,” said the talented designer.
The first of Luke’s pre-booked clients arrived at 11am, and it wasn’t long before a conversation about their upcoming project got into full swing.
Luke said: “The first set of customers were settled, relaxed and happy to ask any questions. I was able to provide some advice, offer my services as a designer and explain how Ashgrove Kitchens could be of great help if they wished to use us.”
This was very much the scene for the three busy and productive days Luke enjoyed at the Renovation Hub, where he says he was able to “not only make great business contacts, but also a nice client base.”
He describes the Ideal Home Show as: “A fantastic and friendly event where all clients were keen to gauge in different ideas to use in their homes. From existing kitchens needing ‘TLC’ to brand new builds where they have a blank canvas in which to work.”
As an exclusive Ideal Home Show deal, Luke offered each client a free design service, drawing up and sending across his thoughts regarding their renovation. All designs have been met with some lovely feedback and he has been busy ever since.
