Buy with care in January sales says KBSA
Nov '14
Now that consumers have returned to improving their homes following the recession, the KBSA have advised consumers to do their research thoroughly as part of their project plan. Anyone looking to buy a new kitchen, bedroom or bathroom in the January sales, should look out for false bargains and ensure that their retailer is chosen for their design skills, complete project management (including installation), genuine value for money, and operates professionally from a showroom - is the message from the Kitchen Bathroom Bedroom Specialists Association (KBSA).
Many independent specialists do offer this, and KBSA members also operate to a clearly visible Association Code of Practice – which can be downloaded directly from the KBSA website at: www.kbsa.org.uk
Also available from the KBSA website is a ‘Consumer Guide’ to purchasing a kitchen, bedroom, bathroom and home office. This guide is full of useful advice, tips and hints to consider when starting a project, and helps you avoid the many pitfalls that can occur if research is not complete. The New Year always sees sale activities in the kitchen, bedroom and bathroom retail market, often with discounts now in excess of 50%, but the KBSA warns that consumers need to do their homework to ensure that the quality and service they expect will be provided for the price.
“We are trying to help consumers through the minefield of buying this type of project, which is usually worth several thousand pounds, so the the importance of dealing with a reputable retailer cannot be overstated, not least for consumer peace of mind,” says KBSA CEO Graham Ball.
“Not all kitchen retailers are equal and the quality of design, product, and installation service and after care should all be taken into account when making a decision. This is why KBSA retailers regard their Code of Practice as a key benefit for consumers, as the process is completely open & visible.”
The KBSA is an association comprising over 300 retail members http://www.kbsa.org.uk/consumer-home/approved-retailers/ all of whom are dedicated to maintaining the association’s high standards in design, supply, installation and customer service. Members adhere to a strict Code of Practice and are monitored by the KBSA to ensure continuously professional service.
Retailers with association membership such as the KBSA ensure flawless service, quality products, top class installation and added security from financial protection. “Don’t get caught out by cowboys, keep yourself protected with association approved retailers, “adds Mr Ball.
