KBSA ANNOUNCE 2015 Kbsa Designer Award Winners

The KBSA have announced the winners of the 2015 Kbsa Designer Awards.
Winner of the Kitchen Designer of the Year (Under £25k), sponsored by Omega was Emma Campbell of Edinburgh Kitchen Company (EKCO) with her ‘elegant, yet modern’ kitchen.
Winner of the Kitchen Designer of the Year (Over £25k), sponsored by Mereway was Diane Berry, of Diane Berry Kitchens with her ‘creative, fresh approach to kitchen design’.
Winner of the Bathroom Designer of the year, sponsored by Airflow, was Hollie Kerr of Edinburgh Kitchen Company (EKCO), the judges commented that ‘design delivered on client brief’.
Winner of the Young Designer of the Year, sponsored by KbbNTG, was Emma Campbell of Edinburgh Kitchen Company (EKCO), judges commented that ‘this entry demonstrates a passion for design’.
Winner of the Accessible/Inclusive room designer of the Year, sponsored by PWS, was Adam Thomas of Design Matters. Judges said, ‘captures the essence of accessible/inclusive design’.
Winner of the Kitchen Concept Designer of the year, sponsored by Articad, was Joanna Geddes of Kitchens by J S Geddes with her ‘ergonomic consideration’.
Winner of the Bathroom Concept Designer of the Year, sponsored by Aquadi, was Jonathan Welfare of Oakwood Bespoke Ltd with his ‘boutique style bathroom that is so desirable in the current market place’.
Winners of the Kbsa Kitchen Concept Student Designer of the Year, jointly sponsored by Aquadi and Bucks new University, was Donna Fox of Four Seasons Interiors and Grace Stonehouse of Roundhouse Design for a ‘good design development process that explores the elements as well as the whole in generating the final design solution’.
The quality reflects the skills and professionalism available from KBSA retailers.
The winners were presented with their awards at the annual Kbsa networking dinner on 16 September, which took place following their AGM and national meeting.
Judge Renee Mascari, owner of Mascari Design Solutions, and CEO of the kbbNTG, said ‘The KBSA Design award entries this year demonstrates the design led talent our industry has to offer today’s consumer. The kitchen concept category delivered the very best in terms of creative design and aspiration, high lighting the skills required from kitchen designers to deliver designs for living spaces, not just kitchens. Congratulations to the winners, those shortlisted and the young designers for having the courage to enter!
Ruth Ward of the KBSA said ‘There were some fantastic designs. We are delighted with the level of entries this year, despite members being rushed off their feet with increased business levels, leaving little time for activities such as these . I think this shows how important these Awards have now become for our members, and the PR associated with them is of tremendous value’ Thanks to all those who entered and to our judges and sponsors’.
