Following the brief from the client I chose the design an materials based on their family life and commitment to sustainability. I have used a solid wood door stained black and a light plywood for the feature panels rather MDF which is less sustainable.

After reading the brief and thinking about the clients wants and needs, I looked at the architecture of the space and the hexagon like shape of the room. Taking these elements, I started to explore the hexagon shape in natures form. Hexagons in particular are often seen in nature particular in beehives.
