5 Simple Yet Effective Space-Saving Bathroom Ideas 2
Oct '19

Frustrated by your small bathroom and the inconvenience of having less space to wash and get ready? It’s time to think big with your small bathroom design!

Follow these 5 tips to make the most of the limited space you have in your bathroom.

Get a larger mirror

Mirrors create the illusion of space, even in the tightest of areas. A bigger mirror, perhaps even one that stretches across a whole wall, also allows two people to use the bathroom at one time for grooming and getting ready.

2) Move your sink

A protruding sink can needlessly occupy a lot of space in your bathroom, forcing you to constantly shimmy around it in order to access other areas. This is not the case, however, with a corner sink.

No. A corner sink facilitates in and outcoming traffic into your bathroom, creating a much wider walkway.

3) Use a shower curtain or glass panel

A swinging door on your shower can take up a lot of room when it comes to the accessibility of your bathroom. Why not install a sliding shower curtain or simple, glass panel instead?

These two options still protect your flooring from water spray and can still look fantastic and elegant alongside your bathroom design.

4) Install a towel rail on the door

The door is often overlooked as a means of storage. Most see it simply as an entrance, but that is wasteful for small bathroom owners.

Instead, why not hang your towels on your bathroom door using a rail or hook? This way, you negate the need for wall rails. The additional wall space this creates can be used for more storage in the form of shelving.

5) Make the most of a vanity unit

A floating vanity unit complete with one or two shelves (and/or drawers) suddenly creates much more storage, and therefore a lot more space.

If you’re used to shimmying around a cornered vanity, try replacing it with a round-edged unit. This will prevent you from bruising your legs/hips on a corner. Softer edges also portray the impression of additional space.
