They wanted modern and bold furniture and were open to choosing dark and textured products to achieve their overall look. Having a practical, open plan space and being able to sit at the island was a prerequisite.

The clients are young professionals with two children who recently purchased their forever home which was in a need of a total refurb. They had visited several retailers who failed to interpret their brief. Retailers either showed what they thought would work, ignoring their requests, or delivered exactly what the client asked for, resulting in an uninspiring kitchen.

The kitchen was the main part of a 3-meter extension, to create a large living and dining space. The vision from the start was to design an area that would be practical for everyday life as the clients cook a lot and spend most of their time in the kitchen. Additionally, it needed to be something that works for hosting and of course, look the part.
